FAQ

Q: Why haven’t I heard of Pet Eats before?
A: Rather than spending millions of dollars on national advertising and feel-good T.V. commercials, we invest in ingredient upgrades and tighter quality control standards. We live in your neighborhood and want to personally earn your business.

Q: Can you really deliver it to my home and still be competitive in price?
A:YES! Because we don’t spend millions on national advertising, middlemen, or expensive storefronts. Our food is higher quality and more digestible than most brands so you feed less… and pick up less!

Q: I have a busy schedule. Just how convenient is it?
A:You don’t have to be home for delivery. On delivery day, simply leave your bin on the porch… and we will refill it. We also offer our premium food in bags that can be delivered with treats, toys, and everything else.

Q: Why are there sometimes variances in the Pet Eats’ kibble?
A:Pet Eats is a natural product produced in small batches from FRESH local ingredients. Such “niche” or “specialty” production means that there are small variances in the kibble size, color and shape. No artificial coloring is ever added for consistency to human eyes. We never add anything that is not beneficial to your pet. We like to explain these variances by comparing pet food to a bakery: consider buying bread from a specialty bakery in your neighborhood – while the bread will taste the same, the loaf will be a little different each time. However, if you buy your bread in a plastic bag from Walmart, it will probably look exactly the same every time…

Stopped Eating
Q: My dog stopped eating your food.
A: After your pet has been on Pet Eats’ Food for 30-60 days she may back off on amount consumed. This is because certain nutrients were missing from the previous brand. Once on Pet Eats it takes 30-60 days for your pets system to catch up. Once it reaches optimum levels, your pet will not need as much food. Also, at six and twelve months of age, as their growth slows, their food requirements become less, so they will cut back.

Meat Meal
Q: What does meat meal mean?
A: Meat meal, as in Chicken Meal for example, is derived from chicken meat, not by-products. The 70% water is removed from the meat to form a concentrated protein meal. It is 91% digestible and 11-times more protein concentrated than meat. Brands that tout "real chicken" or "real beef" for example, count the weight of the water. With the water removed, it would drop from the first listed ingredient to about 7th. Now look at the ingredients that come ahead of it. That is what your feeding!

Q: What are ‘fillers?
A: Fillers have no nutritional value. We look at wheat middlings and peanut hulls as fillers. Some pet owners consider grains/carbohydrates as fillers. They are not ‘fillers’ if formulated correctly, i.e. not listed first in the ingredient panel. Used correctly, carbohydrates provide specific nutritional value.
