Our Premium Ingredients

High-quality ingredients are essential for a healthy food. Some economy brands of dog food are made from inexpensive ingredients that are not easily digested, and therefore, do not provide the best nutrition. While they may technically meet the legal specifications for percentages of protein, fat, carbohydrates, etc., these foods have lower energy values and lower-grade proteins. Because of this, many health-building nutrients may pass right through your dog's system without being absorbed. It also means that you have to feed larger amounts of that lower quality food to provide your pet with the same nutrition as a smaller amount of premium food. When you compare the cost of these foods on a per-serving basis, and realize how quickly you go through a bag, economy foods may actually cost more in the long run.

Top Quality Meat (Click for more info)

Pet Eats uses the highest quality lamb, chicken, pork and fish meal. These concentrated sources of protein both provide the same high level of nutrition as their whole meat sources but with moisture and fat removed. Pet Eats’ meat meals originate in facilities handling meat for your dinner table. Our chicken, lamb, pork & fish meals have passed USDA inspection and conform to even higher EU orgin traceability requirements.

Fresh Whole Grains (Click for more info)

Pet Eats buys fresh, whole grains and grinds them fresh for each production run. They are herbicide-free. We NEVER use Genetically Modified grains (GMO), and amounts selected for each formula vary based on over 60 different scientific nutrient values specific to each grain. High-quality food should NOT contain carbohydrate food fragments. Fragments are lower-cost by-products of another food manufacturing process. Fragment ingredients include wheat bran, wheat flour, rice flour, and wheat middlings etc. These pre-processed ingredients have had much of their nutritional value leeched from them.

Naturally Preserved (Click for more info)

Pet Eats’ premium pet foods are Naturally Preserved with Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) and Vitamin C. Pet Eats uses NO artificial preservatives, colors or additives. We don’t add anything to the food unless it is nutritious and healthy for your cat or dog. We test our pet food ingredients by routine sample to make sure they are free from chemical preservatives such as BHA, BHT and ethoxyquin to laboratory standards.

Digestibility (Click for more info)

Because our food is concentrated it costs less to feed than commercial brands. Pet Eats brand may seem higher in price at first glance...but look again. Pet Eats foods are nutrient dense and are actually cheaper per serving than the brands with less nutrition. You will feed 20% less than commercial pet foods. By eliminating the cheap filler ingredients and low-grade proteins that are so common in commercial pet foods, Pet Eats creates foods that are more dense and richer in nutrients without added bulk. This means your pet gets more nutrition from less food, and that mean you clean up less too!

Lower Temp Cooking Process (Click for more info)

At Pet Eats, we use a slow-cooking process that is combined with lower cooking temperatures to produce a high nutrient-dense product that is more digestible with less volume. Though pet food can be cooked successfully at a higher temperature, keeping it below 270 degrees reduces the risk of “trapping” proteins, thereby making them more bioavailable.

Skin & Coat Conditioners
Getting a good skin and coat is no big secret. It's just very expensive to do. Producing healthy skin and a shiny coat takes high quality and expensive ingredients. You have to use more meat, higher quality sources of fats and oils, and high levels of vitamins and other nutrients. Other pet food companies try to take shortcuts by using vegetable protein fillers and cheaper sources of fats. At Pet Eats, our foods have meat as the 1st ingredient, purified chicken fat, fish & flaxseed oils, and high levels of vitamins and minerals to contribute to coat, heart and brain health. We select them for high levels of Omega 3, 6, 9, DHA and EPA.

Inspection & Quality Control (click fo more info)

Our dry food is manufactured in a facility in the United States that has been making it for almost 40 years. We use only the finest ingredients available, each from known sources that have proven trustworthy for years. The plant is USDA/APHIS inspected and our product goes a step further by being EU Certified. We opted for the expensive EU Certification process, which means you must know the country of origin of each ingredient. We have fixed formulas that use high quality ingredients specified by us from sources known to us for years. APHIS registry certifies that our manufacturer purchases all of their meats from USDA registered suppliers who follow all USDA regulations for safe meat handling.
